Raith Rovers FC can today confirm that attacking midfielder / forward Ethan Ross is to spend a period of time on loan at SPFL League 1 leaders Falkirk.
Ethan’s loan period will run until early January 2024, and will allow the Aberdeen native to gain valuable game time in a competitive environment as part of The Bairns push to win promotion back to the SPFL Championship.
The move sees Ethan reunited with the former Rovers management team of John McGlynn and Paul Smith and he was with Aberdeen since the age of 10, initially joining the Rovers on loan in October 2020 before being recalled by The Dons in January 2021.
Ethan is a former skipper of the Dons under 19 side, making his first team debut for the Reds in January 2019 in a Scottish Cup tie v Stenhousemuir. He made his Premiership debut in March of 2019 at Celtic Park from the bench and featured in 9 matches in total for Aberdeen.
On October 14th 2021 it was announced that Ethan, having been freed by Aberdeen, had signed for the Rovers until the end of the current season 2023-24.
Up to the end of last season Ethan has played in 83 matches (56 of them starts), and has scored 12 goals for the club, including the goal that clinched the SPFL Trust Trophy in April 2022.
