Raith Rovers have today completed the signing of 23 year old forward Callum Smith on a 2 year deal. He joins from Airdrie, where he previously played for Rovers boss Ian Murray.

Callum spoke to RaithTV after joining The Rovers:

With 200 senior games played in his career (146 of them starts) and 46 goals scored, Callum will add pace and directness to the Rovers attack.

Rovers manager Ian Murray was delighted to secure Callum’s services again and work with the player, saying:

“I’m really happy Callum has decided to sign for Raith Rovers. He’s a player I know well, and I’ve watched him improve every season. I look forward to working with him again at Raith Rovers”.

A native of Cowdenbeath, Callum started his football journey with The Blue Brazil as a young teenager before moving to Dunfermline Athletics’ under 15s. He then moved on to FEFA (Fife Elite Football Academy) before returning to the Pars to sign for the Development Squad on a professional contract.

During his time at East End Park, Callum made 25 appearances and scored 4 goals and was loaned out to Championship sides Alloa and Arbroath and League 1 Airdrie to further his development as a player before signing for Hamilton on a free transfer in July 2020.

After a year at New Douglas Park Callum joined Airdrie in July 2021, helping The Diamonds return to the Championship after 10 years in the 3rd tier, in a penalty shootout at the end of season 2022-23 v Hamilton Accies.

Welcome Aboard Callum!
