The clubs plans for season 2023-24 received a major boost today with the news that the club’s top scorer from season 2022-23 – Aidan Connolly – has agreed terms on a 2 year contract extension which ties him to The Rovers until June 2025, with the option of an additional year based on appearances in the final year of that contract.

Following swiftly on from Club Captain Scott Brown committing himself to the club until June 2025, versatile defender Liam Dick continuing his time at the club and Scott McGill signing permanently, the news that the popular wide midfielder will be at Stark’s Park is considered a major boost for the club.

Aidan finished last season as Rovers top scorer, scoring 15 times in open play and from set pieces as he drove the team on from the right flank.

He formed a strong partnership with fullback Ross Millen in their first season together at The Rovers down the right side of the pitch, and everyone at the club welcomes his return.

Speaking exclusively to www.raithrovers.net Raith Rovers Manager Ian Murray commented:

“I’m really happy Aidan has agreed to re-sign for The Rovers.

He was our top goalscorer in the last 2 seasons, and will be an important member of our squad for the coming season.

He adds workrate, goals and quality to our team.”

A delighted Aidan spoke to RaithTV after agreeing his new deal:
