Raith Rovers Football Club are pleased to announce an important addition to the squad with versatile midfielder Scott McGill signing a pre-contract agreement on a 1 year contract today.

The 21-year-old joined The Rovers on loan in January of this year from Heart of Midlothian, and proved to be a key addition to the squad as he played in several midfield, attacking and defensive positions.

Scott played in 11 matches last season, scoring 2 goals (both at home) against Cove Rangers and Partick Thistle.

Scott started his football career at Hutchison Vale, moving on to Tynecastle Boys Club in his youth football days. After signing as a professional for Heart of Midlothian, Scott spent time on loan with Rovers manager Ian Murray at former club Airdrieonians and then at Kelty Hearts with newly-appointed Rovers Technical Director John Potter.

Manager Ian Murray spoke to www.raithrovers.net about his latest signing, and said “Scott came in on loan last season and did very well for us, he can be played in a number of positions and always gives his all.

He has a no – fear way of playing his game, and I look forward to working with him on a permanent basis”

After signing a contract that ties him to the club until the end of season 2023-24, Scott spoke to RaithTV:
