HM Queen Elizabeth II : Pre-match applause

Saturday September 17th 2022

Football matches and other sporting events taking place in the United Kingdom across this weekend will be making arrangements to mark the period of mourning that is underway following the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

The Board of Directors at Raith Rovers Football Club has decided that the most appropriate way to do so, prior to our home match against Ayr United today, is for everyone present at Stark’s Park to participate in a minute of applause immediately before kick-off.

This will take place after the referee has led both sides onto the pitch, with the players gathering around the centre circle, and will commence on the referee’s whistle.

Rovers play their first ever League Challenge Cup tie away at Brockville against Falkirk. Rovers win the match 3-0 with goals from Kenny McDonald Philip Burn and an OG from Falkirk's Whittaker.
