We have made our third signing of the week, with the arrival of 20 year old striker Kyle Connell. The loan deal from Kilmarnock runs until January 2023, with the player available to play tomorrow at Cove Rangers if selected.

Kyle started his football journey in the youth teams of Motherwell, Blackburn Rovers and Kilmarnock, before signing his first professional deal with Killie at the start of the 2020 – 21 season. There then followed a loan spell at Airdrieonians, working with current Rovers management duo Ian Murray and Scott Agnew. Kyle achieved success in the later part of that season, as he netted six goals for the Diamonds.

The following season saw Kyle loaned to East Fife, and although it was a disappointing season for the club, Kyle scored eight goals for the Methil men in their relegation season. Manager Ian Murray was delighted to secure Kyle’s services, saying:

“Kyle is a good young striker who has done well at Airdrie and East Fife in recent seasons. I have always kept an eye on him. He’s physical, and hungry to succeed. I like him as a player and person. Kyle is an out – and – out striker who will add firepower to our attack. I look forward to working with him again and I know he is excited to be here. On behalf of the club, I’d like to thank Kilmarnock FC for their co-operation with this deal.”

Welcome Aboard Kyle!
