With Pre – Season training starting last Saturday the new Management team of Ian Murray and Scott Agnew have been busy planning and making preparations for next season.

The Summer Transfer Window for signing players permanently officially opened on Friday 10th June 2022, and remains open until the end of August. Loan deals, however, can still be finalised throughout the month of August.

Player Summary to June 2022:

NEW PLAYERS SIGNED 2022/23 

Dylan Easton

Dylan Easton was announced as Ian Murray’s first new signing on a 2 year deal after leaving Airdrie. A much admired player throughout the Championship, Dylan can operate in a variety of creative attacking roles in midfield.

 

Scott Brown

Scott Brown joined the Rovers after his contract came to an end at Peterhead. The versatile midfielder can also operate in defensive roles, and had several offers from full time clubs before choosing the Rovers.

 

Ross Millen

Right fullback Ross Millen – signed for the Rovers on a 2 year deal on Tuesday 14th June after leaving Scunthorpe United. The former Dunfermline and Queens Park defender has 10 years experience as a professional and is excited at the prospect of a fresh challenge at Stark’s Park.

 

Scott Agnew

Although signed as Assistant Manager to Ian Murray, experienced midfielder Scott Agnew is available for selection if required.

 

 

 

PLAYERS RETAINED FROM LAST SEASON

Brad Spencer

The news that midfield lynchpin Brad Spencer had extended his time at the Rovers by another season (his contract expired at the end of last season) was greeted positively across the Rovers support.

A key ingredient to how the team will operate, this season will be Brad’s 3rd in Rovers colours and gives the coaching staff great options across the middle of the park.

 

Additionally, the following players are in contract till at least the end of season 2022-23:
Jamie MacDonald, Liam Dick, Aidan Connolly, Ross Matthews, Jamie Gullan, Lewis Vaughan, Dario Zanatta, Tom Lang, Brad Spencer, Sam Stanton, Robbie Thomson, Luke Mahady, Ethan Ross, Aaron Arnott, Kieran Mitchell, Quinn Coulson, Kyle Bow, Greig Young & Adam Masson

Although appointed to Ian Murray’s staff as First Team Coach, Christophe Berra remains available for match selection.

 

PLAYERS DEPARTED / LOANS ENDED

David McKay

Long – serving defender David McKay signed for Queen of the South, after the Doonhamers relegation from the SPFL Championship, as Queens look to challenge at the top of SPFL League 1 next season.

 

 

Kyle Benedictus

Former Club Captain Kyle Benedictus brought his 7 year association with the Rovers to an end on the expiry of his contract at Stark’s Park, signing for local rivals Dunfermline Athletic to lead their assault on a highly competitive SPFL League 1 next season.

 

 

Reghan Tumilty

Defender Reghan’s contract with the club expired at the end of last season, with the player deciding to move on to a new challenge away from Stark’s Park. Reghan has now signed with Hartlepool.

 

 

Frankie Musonda

Versatile defender / midfielder Frankie Musonda’s time at Stark’s Park has also come to an end. Frankie experienced international football for the first time (with Zambia) last season, having battled back from injury and completing his rehabilitation from surgery to become a key player in the second half of the campaign. Frankie has now signed with Ayr United FC.

 

Blaise Riley – Snow

Midfielder Blaise Riley – Snow’s 1 year deal expired earlier this month and the player has sought a new challenge after 1 season in Kirkcaldy, which also included a loan spell with Alloa Athletic. Blaise has now signed with Brentford.

 

 

Players who were on loan at the Rovers at the end of last season from other clubs (Sean Mackie, Ethon Varian, Matej Poplatnik and Ben Williamson) returned to their parent clubs Hibs, Stoke City, Livingston and Rangers when the 2021-22 campaign ended. We thank their parent clubs for their co – operation in facilitating these loans.
