Scottish FA Board Update

Monday January 11th 2021

Against a backdrop of increased positive COVID-19 cases across the country, the Scottish FA Board met last night.

As has been widely reported this morning, a temporary suspension of all football beneath the Scottish Professional Football League Championship, encompassing all predominantly part-time tiers of the Scottish professional pyramid, takes effect from midnight tonight until 31st January 2021.

Additionally, the Scottish Cup will also be suspended, with any matches scheduled to be played prior to the 1st of February 2021 to be rescheduled in due course.

For Raith Rovers, this means that:
Scottish Cup – tomorrow (Tuesday) night’s 2nd round Scottish Cup tie v Stirling is now postponed, along with the 3rd round tie scheduled for the weekend of 30th January for the Livingston v Stirling / Raith Rovers tie.

League matches – the SPFL Championship will continue on the proviso that teams adhere to a weekly testing regime, meaning that our next home match is at home v Inverness Caledonian Thistle on Saturday 16th January 2021.

Hearts beat Rovers 4-2 in extra-time in the William Hill Scottish Cup 4th Round replay at Tynecastle. The teams finished 1-1 after 90 minutes with Bobby Barr scoring the Rovers goal in normal time. Ryan Hardie equalised a Malaury Martin Penalty in extra time before Jamie Walker and Bjorn Johnsen won it for Hearts.
