On Monday we received the sad news from Elan Karran in the Isle of Man that, on 3rd September – just 11 days before his 102nd birthday, her father Sandy Gerrard died peacefully,

Sandy was one of Rovers oldest supporters, and he kept a close eye on the Rovers’ fortunes until the end.

Sandy’s 101st birthday was celebrated on the cover of the Peterhead programme on 14 September.

A butcher’s apprentice in Kinghorn in 1934, he joined the RAF just before WW2 and was stationed in the Isle of Man as a gunnery instructor where he met his wife Betty, and remained thereafter.

Everyone at Raith Rovers sends our condolences to Sandy’s family, who all follow the Rovers like Sandy before them.
