Crowdfunding Campaign

Friday July 10th 2020

As everyone is aware, the situation we currently find ourselves in is having to defend (first through litigation and now arbitration) our right to being promoted to the SPFL Championship for season 2020-21.

Together with Dundee United and Cove Rangers we have already incurred over £50,000 in legal costs
and these costs could escalate to over £150,000 by the time arbitration concludes.

To support the legal costs involved in the case two Dundee United supporters have set up a GoFundMe campaign to raise money. They are planning to walk from Tynecastle to Tannadice on Saturday 18th July to highlight the situation that Dundee United find themselves in , with all funds raised being donated to the legal fund.

Dundee United FC are now formally endorsing their campaign and we are going to provide them with all the support we can to make it as successful as possible. An event is being arranged at Tannadice to welcome walkers on their arrival on the Saturday evening.

In a continuing show of solidarity in defence of the case, we have had discussions with Dundee United and Cove Rangers  and will also be participating in this event with Raith Rovers supporters running a similar crowdfunding campaign, organising a walk  from Stark’s Park to Tannadice on Saturday the 18th of July.

Cove Rangers supporters will also be walking from Aberdeen to Tannadice on the same day to join up with the Rovers and Dundee United supporters.

At the time of writing this statement the Dundee United supporters campaign has raised nearly £30,000 and the Cove Rangers supporters campaign nearly £3,000.

Raith Rovers would like to thank our supporters for organising our participation in these crowdfunding efforts – as well as hundreds of Dundee United and Cove Rangers fans already making donations, many fans of other clubs have shown support to this cause, highlighting the impact that this case is having on the whole of Scottish football.

We would like to thank our supporters in advance for any donations they are able to make, and we hope that with the endorsement of Raith Rovers more people will make contributions.

You can make a donation on the GoFundMe site at https://www.gofundme.com/f/starks-park-to-tannadice-walk

Craig Levein and Graeme Hogg both playing for Hearts against Rovers in a 'friendly' at Stark's Park were sent off in the 44th minute for fighting with each other.
