Supporting Our Fans

Tuesday June 16th 2020

The onset of the Coronavirus pandemic has had a massive impact on a global scale. The virus has claimed the lives of hundreds of thousands of people throughout the world.

In Scotland, more than 15,000 people have tested positive and over 2,000 deaths have been recorded.

In addition to this tragic loss of life, people have had to endure months of lockdown. Unable to visit loved ones or friends this has had a major impact especially on the elderly and more vulnerable members of our community. Jobs have been lost and many people may be facing financial uncertainty. Young people have had their education and social lives disrupted.

Some of our supporters may be feeling the effects of the last few months more acutely than others.

Some may be facing financial hardship.

Some may be struggling with feelings of isolation or loneliness or depression.

Some may be worried or stressed about their job security. Some may just want someone to talk to.

As mentioned by Chairman Bill Clark in his RaithTV interview yesterday: “If you are struggling to deal with the current situation then we are here to help. We may not have all the answers but we can provide information on agencies in the local area that will be able to offer support and advice”.

As many people are struggling with things they’ve never had to deal with before, it can be difficult to know where to turn or what help is available. There are organisations out there that are waiting for you to get in touch.

So, if you are looking for support in any area of life, we have many connections in the local area that we can direct you to. Please call Margie or Andy, who can provide contact details. All calls will be treated in the strictest confidence.
