Legends & Memorial Tiles

Thursday April 23rd 2020

The football club were extremely grateful for the most recent amount presented to the club to aid the fundraising efforts that have been put in by supporters in so many ways since football matches stopped due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Rovers supporter and volunteer Gavin Quinn presented RRFC Director Andy Mill with a cheque for £1,157 yesterday (Wednesday) at Stark’s Park.

Speaking exclusively to www.raithrovers.net, Gavin said: “I have been organising the fans and legends tiles since 2008, which started as a wee fundraiser as well as to celebrate the 125th anniversary of Raith Rovers Football Club.

Since then, over the years fans have continued to buy both personalised as well as legends tiles. When the call went out to help the club out during the lockdown I thought it might bring a few pounds into the club.

The orders have come in steadily over the last 4 weeks, not only from Fife but from all round the United Kingdom as well as Belgium and the USA.

The number of orders has far exceeded my expectations, which has been shown in how much I have been able to raise for the football club.

I would like to thank everyone who has ordered a tile – it’s very much appreciated.

Ian Jones at Angel Imagery in Lowestoft, Suffolk also deserves Thanks and credit for creating the tiles for me.

Eric Swinley, who does stadium maintenance at Stark’s Park, needs Thanked in advance as he has the job of putting them on the wall in the Penman Family Stand concourse, just as he has done since 2008.

I am continuing to take orders so if anyone wants one they can contact me direct at my email address which is tartanrover1blueyonder.co.uk
