League Suspended

Friday March 13th 2020

UPDATED 15/3/20

The SPFL and SFA have announced the suspension of all professional and grassroots football under their jurisdiction, effective immediately, due to the coronavirus situation.

Please note:

  • Stark’s Park will be closed for all sporting activities, including training, for at least one week.
  • The main office will be be closed on Monday, but it is hoped it will reopen on Tuesday for the rest of the week. The club shop will be open as long as the main office is.
  • Rovers Super Lotto draw will go ahead on Wednesday.
  • Tickets sales for the Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer Cup Final will no longer take place this week. It is our understanding that the ‘season’ has been suspended rather than concluded therefore we remain hopeful of completing the league season and taking part in the Tunnocks Caramel Wafer Cup Final.

The RRFC Board is meeting on Thursday to consider the club’s options on a large number of issues. By that time we will have further information and advice from Tuesday’s UEFA meeting and from the SFA/SPFL.

We will update this message as soon as any further decisions are made. In the meantime we urge everyone to follow government and NHS guidance to look after your health and the health of your family.

The SPFL statement can be read in full here.

Rovers defeat St. Johnstone 4-3 in an exciting 3rd Round Scottish Cup replay at Stark's Park with Colin Sinclair scoring a hat-trick for Rovers. Roddy Georgeson scores Rovers other goal with Rooney Connolly and Hall netting for the visitors in front of 8438 fans.
