Members Club Meeting

Tuesday July 17th 2012

Monday night saw the Raith Suite full to the brim, as those that have joined the Raith Rovers Members Club over the past year were invited to a special night ahead of the start of the new season. The meeting was very successful with a large turnout of members – it was standing room only.

Vice-Chairman Turnbull Hutton thanked everyone for coming along and for their continued support and conducted a question and answer session. He then went on to meet the guests individually and answered many varied questions on a one-to-one basis.

Former Prime Minister Gordon Brown and Hearts manager John McGlynn also took part in the event, meeting everyone who came along.

The night’s focus, though, was on the new management team of Grant Murray, Laurie Ellis and Paul Smith.

Bill Baxter takes over as Raith Rovers manager. He took Rovers to a Scottish Cup Quarter final but league form was poor at the start of the 1971-72 season and he was dismissed in November 1971.
