The highly popular Raith Rovers Former Players’ Association and Rovers Down South annual Tribute Night event returns on Friday 5th April 2024 at the Dean Park Hotel Kirkcaldy
This year celebrates the 10th anniversary of Rovers’ 2014 Ramsdens Cup victory.
Reminisce with fellow fans about our famous extra-time victory over Rangers, whilst having the chance to mingle with players from our Cup-winning team. There will be a player on each table.
Tickets cost just £40 and include a two-course meal, along with a free raffle ticket for Rovers-themed prizes. A quiz, further raffles and auctions will also be held and we hope to have a video link to some players further afield.
All the money raised from the evening will go towards supporting the Raith Rovers Community Foundation’s ‘Community Belong’ ticket scheme that funds up to 40 kids attending every Rovers home game.
The event is once again close to a sell-out, so make sure to grab one of the few remaining tickets.
You can order either individual tickets or a full table (nine places), subject to availability.

After two back-to-back wins and two clean sheets to boot, Raith Rovers now head back to Hampden this Saturday, for their fourth meeting with Queen’s Park.
Rovers 1-0 win at Firhill against Partick Thistle on Tuesday evening moved them 17 points clear of third placed Thistle, and just one behind leaders Dundee United.
However, with United playing against relegation threatened Dunfermline Athletic on Friday evening, that gap to first place could be greater by the time the two sides take to the pitch in the national stadium.
If Rovers are to take all three points from this one, they’ll need to overcome one of the in-form teams in the division, with only the top two picking up more points over the last half dozen matches, while the only losses Queen’s have recorded in their last 10 games have come against Ayr United and Dundee United.
Forward, Ruari Paton continues to impress, and his goal against Partick Thistle on Saturday made it 20 for the season in all competitions.
Alongside him, new addition Cillian Sheridan has very much hit the ground running, with the former Wisla Plock and Jagiellonia forward racking up two goals and three assists in his four appearances to date.
Rovers have the upper hand in the three games so far this season, but it could so easily be different, with Rovers’ two wins both coming in extraordinary fashion.
Despite taking the lead at Stark’s Park in September through Callum Smith, they found themselves 2-1 down with just four minutes remaining. However, an equaliser from Lewis Vaughan made it two apiece, while his 94th minute winner meant the points stayed in the Lang Toun.
It was an even later show the last time the two sides met at Hampden in November, although the scenario was almost identical.
Again, Rovers found themselves 2-1 down, despite taking the lead through Vaughan, but with just a minute to go, Jack Hamilton’s header made it 2-2. Incredibly, there was still time for late drama, and Ross Millen’s panenka penalty in the 92nd minute won it for a Rovers side who had played with 10 men for the final half hour after Euan Murray’s red card.
The most recent meeting at Stark’s Park didn’t quite have such a happy ending for Rovers though, and again, they took an early lead, this time through Hamilton. However, goals from Cameron Bruce and Sean Welsh saw Callum Davidson take all three points in his first game as Spiders’ boss.
Goals should be pretty much guaranteed in this one, as they two haven’t played out a nil nil draw since November 1985, with the clubs serving up goals in the 28 meetings since.
Saturday’s match referee will be Kevin Clancy.

After disposing with Dunfermline for the fifth time in a row on Saturday, Raith Rovers face a quick turnaround this week, when they travel to Firhill to face Partick Thistle on Tuesday evening.
Goals from Sam Stanton and Dylan Easton earned Rovers a 2-0 win against the Pars on Saturday, while Thistle were drawing two each with Queen’s Park at Hampden.
Those results allowed Rovers to move 14 points clear of Partick who sit third in the table, three points clear of fourth placed Morton, with Kris Doolan’s side now winless in their last seven league games.
The flip side, is that they’ve only lost twice in that sequence, with draws, and plenty of goals a recurring theme for the Firhill men in recent weeks.
The Jags last six games have featured 28 goals, and while Thistle are the second top scorers in the league, behind Dundee United, only Arbroath and Ayr United have conceded more.
This is the two sides third meeting this season, with Rovers taking four points from a possible six, in two hugely exciting matches.
Rovers found themselves two down the last time they were here on the opening day of the league season, but late goals from Dylan Easton and Kieran Mitchell earned Rovers a share of the points.
The return match in December was even more exciting, with Rovers two to the good, thanks to efforts from Daniel O’Reilly and Dylan Easton, but three goals in 18 minutes for the visitors meant Rovers found themselves 3-2 down with 20 minutes remaining.
However, two goals in three minutes from Callum Smith and Sam Stanton saw Rovers take all three points from a ding dong battle.
Tuesday night’s match referee will be Euan Anderson.
Head-To-Head Record:
Partick Thistle wins: 70
Raith Rovers wins: 52
Draws: 40
The SPFL today announced that team captain Scott Brown has been awarded the Goal of the Month Award for February 2024.
With our match vs league leaders Dundee United tied at 1-1 after Louis Moult’s 39th minute header had cancelled out Zak Rudden’s 9th minute opener, both teams were pushing for a late winner.
With the clock on the 89 minute mark, a ball into the United area was headed strongly away by Ross Graham as far as ‘Broonie’. The skipper chested the ball down and hit one of the sweetest strikes the Rovers fans have seen at Stark’s Park in years to bring home the bragging rights and three points for The Rovers.
We’re thrilled to officially launch a reissue of a favourite Rovers shirt of the past – our 1990/91 Spall home shirt.
Raith Rovers had been wearing suppliers Spall kit since season 1985-86 season, firstly with a more traditional navy blue top with white pinstripes and white sleeves.
This colour and style had been used from 1985 until 1988, including the season Frank Connor took Rovers to promotion in season 1986-87.
For the start of season, 1988-89, Frank Connor decided he wanted a brighter top. So, they went back to royal blue. They choose a shirt that had a two-tone royal blue with a shadow effect.
The design then changed again, it was still royal blue with a diagonal lighter blue pattern with a red and white trimmed collar and cuffs.
In season 1990/91, Rovers finished in seventh place in the Scottish League Division One. Gordon Dalziel finished top goal-scorer with 26 goals, Ian Ferguson scored eight.
In the Skol Cup, Rovers started in the second round with an impressive 2-1 win away at Forfar. In the third round, it was a ‘giant killing’ win against Hibs.
For the Quarter-Final, Rovers went to Ibrox. Ronnie Coyle opened the scoring with a great long-range shot. Rangers then equalised through McCoist before half-time. Mo Johnson put them 2-1 up, before Terry Butcher scored an own goal. Rangers completed a 6-2 win against their valiant opponents.
Rovers had a very good mix of experienced and youngers players.
Gordon Arthur was the keeper and in defence there was Cammy Fraser, Ronnie Coyle, Iain Macleod, Derek Murray, Jock McStay and George McGeachie. Shaun Dennis was establishing himself in the starting line-up.
In midfield, there was Stevie ‘Bingo’ Simpson, Phil Burn and the mercurial Martin Nelson. On the fringes of the first team were youngsters Colin Cameron (now Assistant Manager) and David Sinclair.
Up-front, we had Gordon Dalziel, Alan Logan and Ian Ferguson.
The following season Jimmy Nicholl decided that the home shirt should return to being navy blue.
Raith Rovers are delighted to confirm that Assistant Manager Colin ‘Micky’ Cameron has agreed a three-year contract extension.
This extension will see Ian Murray’s right-hand man remain alongside him until the end of the 2026/27 season.
Micky commented, “I’m absolutely delighted to sign an extension to my contract for another three seasons.
I’m looking forward to the challenge ahead and hopefully continuing the progress we have made as a Club this season into future seasons.”
A Rovers legend since his playing days, Micky was originally appointed Assistant Manager in October 2022, reuniting with Murray after the pair worked together at Airdrieonians.
Micky is an inductee into our Hall of Fame, starting as a youth player in 1988 and going on to make 168 First Team appearances between 1990 and 1996.
Micky signed his new contract today sporting one of the first Rovers kits he wore as a player, the 1990/91 Spall shirt.
He scored 42 goals for the Club, with his most famous contribution probably a hat-trick against Kilmarnock en route to Rovers winning the Coca Cola Cup in 1994.
He then joined Hearts and Wolverhampton Wanderers (during which time he won 28 Scotland caps).
Later in his career, Micky played for a number of clubs in England and Scotland before going on to manage Cowdenbeath and Berwick before his stint at Airdrieonians.
We are all delighted to have Micky on board for the next three years.

After the disappointment of last Friday’s 3-2 defeat to Arbroath, Raith Rovers have the chance to get back to winning ways this Saturday, when they welcome Dunfermline to Stark’s Park.
That defeat kept Raith second in the table, and they’re now four points behind leaders Dundee United, albeit having played a game fewer.
Dunfermline go into this one on the back of a 2-0 home loss to Airdrie, a result which saw the Diamonds leapfrog James McPake’s side in the table, with the Pars now residing sixth.
This will be the sixth, and barring any playoff games between the two, final Fife derby of the season, with Raith yet to taste defeat over 90 minutes in any of the previous meetings.
The first was way back in July, with the season kicking off with a League Cup group game between the two, as Dunfermline made off with the bonus point, prevailing on penalties after a 1-1 draw.
Lewis McCann had given the Pars the lead, but Dylan Easton’s equaliser ensured the game went to spot kicks.
The next two encounters both ended 1-0 to Rovers, with both the slender wins coming thanks to goals from Sam Stanton, but the Scottish Cup clash at East End Park was far more emphatic, as goals from Jack Hamilton, Stanton again and Lewis Vaughan sealing a 3-0 win that could have been far more on the night.
The last meeting between the two was back to being tight again, with Daniel O’Reilly’s brace, either side of a Ben Summers equaliser, earning Rovers a 2-1 win.
If Rovers can win this one, it’ll be the first time they’ve ever recorded five successive wins in the fixture.
Saturday afternoon’s match referee will be Craig Napier.

Raith Rovers Wins: 47
Dunfermline Athletic Wins: 52
