POTY Awards – Watch Online

Saturday May 9th 2020

The club will be broadcasting its Player of the Year Awards for season 2019/20 this weekend.

In a break from tradition (as a result of the current situation regarding COVID-19), the footage for this event has been compiled and recorded remotely over the last few weeks.

Ordinarily, the Rovers squad, coaches, staff and supporters would have already attended a formal dinner and awards function at the Dean Park Hotel to see the players presented with their awards and to celebrate the club winning SPFL Ladbrokes League 1, however for obvious reasons this has not been possible this year.

The Raith Rovers FC POTY Awards Event will be available for supporters to view for FREE on the RaithTV YouTube channel here from 7pm this Saturday.

There are 8 awards up for grabs….

  • Manager’s Player of the Year (Sponsored by Raith Hall of Fame)
  • Players’ Player of the Year (Jim McMillan Club)
  • Young Player of the Year (200 Club)
  • Supporters’ Player of the Year (Raith Rovers Supporters Club)
  • Malcolm Szpera Award for Endeavour (Rovers Down South/Szpera Family)
  • Fife Free Press Starcheck Award (Fife Free Press)
  • Best Individual Performance (Fife’s Finest)
  • Goal of the Season (Raith Supporters Trust)

The event will be shown as a “premiere” on the club’s YouTube channel on Saturday 9th May 2020 at 7pm. We’d love for as many of you to join us for the premiere showing as possible, as viewers can interact using the YouTube chat function as the awards are announced.

As soon as the premiere showing ends, the awards event will remain available to view on YouTube at any time.

Although the broadcast is free, the fundraising for the football club continues. For those able to help, Raith Rovers FC have set up a crowdfunder here – https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/raithroversfc
