The club announce that defender Jamie Watson (20) is moving to pastures new when his contract expires next month.

Jamie will be starting a 4 year SPAL (Sports Physical Activity Leadership) scholarship at Cape Breton University in Canada when studies start in August.

A local lad and a lifelong supporter of the Rovers, Jamie is a former Balwearie High School pupil and also played for Hutchison Vale BC before joining Raith Rovers Youth Academy.

He signed for the Rovers as a professional in June 2017, and was part of the Development Squad, winning the SPFL Development League East two years in succession in 2016/17 and 2017/18.

Jamie first appeared in a senior squad for the opening game of the 2017/18 league campaign against Alloa. He made his first team debut in the 3-1 victory over St. Mirren in the Challenge Cup third round on 7th October 2017, and in total he played 40 times for the club (31 of them starts).

Everyone at Raith Rovers FC thanks Jamie for his services in his time at the club, and wish him well in his Scholarship and beyond.
