Kieron Bowie

Friday July 19th 2019

Raith Rovers are delighted to announce that Kieron Bowie (16) has signed an extension to his contract with the club, tying him to the Rovers until the end of season 2021-22.

John McGlynn and Kieron Bowie – contract extension

Kieron, who is working towards achieving a Modern Apprenticeship with the club he has supported all his life, was brought in to train with the first team in January 2019 by John McGlynn and Paul Smith while still attending Kirkcaldy High School and has had his contract at the club extended as a reward for his continuous development, learning and hard work as a player since making his debut v Montrose in February 2019.

Manager John McGlynn said: “In recognition of the hard work that Kieron has put in since January, this contract extension is a reward for his continuous development. The contract is incentive based; Kieron will need to continue to improve, to make use of the opportunity presented to him.

He has certainly showed great strides of improvement; he’s living the dream playing for the team he supports and we’re all very proud of him”

RaithTV caught up with Kieron and Assistant Manager Paul Smith to talk about the news, and what it means to play for your local team as a supporter of the club:
