Raith Rovers have signed Lewis Allan (22) after the striker was recently released by Hibs.

Lewis was with the Easter Road side from the age of 10 until signing a 5 year professional deal in 2014. He had a great record at youth and reserve level and spent time on loan in SPFL League 1 and 2 at Dunfermline, Forfar, Livingston & Edinburgh City.

He has signed a 1 year, full time deal with the Rovers after spending the last week training with the Rovers squad as the players and management continue preparations for the new Ladbrokes SPFL League 1 season.

Manager John McGlynn remarked on his latest signing: “I am excited to have completed the signing of Lewis Allan; he has shown in training the qualities myself and Paul Smith are looking for. He trained with us for a week giving us the chance to take a good look at him and has demonstrated to us the hunger and determination to kick start his career after leaving Hibs last week.

He is the perfect profile for us; he’s 22 and still has ambitions to play at the top level. He’s strong, powerful and works hard both with and without the ball, holding the ball up and linking the play.

He gives us good options to get behind defences too”

Raith Rovers Director Ali More added: “To help the management team build a strong squad for this season, yesterday we announced the launch of the Raith Supporters’ Fund which allows fans to contribute monthly to the playing budget and funding of young apprentices. We have had an encouraging response so far. If you wish to sign up and win the chance of a quarterly cash prize or a £2500 promotion bonus, click here“.

Welcome to the Rovers Lewis!
