Jack Smith

Thursday May 30th 2019

Promising striker Jack Smith (19) has signed a contract to the end of season 2019-20, the first professional deal of his career, as he looks forward to another season working with the Rovers squad and coaching staff.

This is a great opportunity for a player with massive potential to continue to gain experience and develop as a professional with the club that he signed for at the start of the 2017-18 season.

John McGlynn said “I’m really pleased for Jack Smith who I selected as my Young Player of the Year last season and who we have really high hopes for“.

It’s important that homegrown talent is brought along by Raith Rovers, and this is another positive step in that direction with former academy graduate Ross Matthews signing on for next season alongside players that have been developed by the club from an early age like Jamie Watson, Lewis Vaughan and Kieron Bowie.

Important changes are taking pace to the Player Fund (where supporters can help young players develop at RRFC), with all supporters being asked to read through and comment on the proposals here.

Inside Forward Alexander McCulloch signs from Coventry City but only manages 8 first team appearances in two seasons.
