Raith Rovers announce that midfielder Daniel Armstrong has signed for SPFL Championship leaders Ross County.

Dan joined the Rovers in November as a free agent after being released by Wolverhampton Wanderers at the end of last season.

In his time at Stark’s Park he played 11 matches (all of them starts), scoring 5 goals.

His strikes at Stenhousemuir and League leaders Arbroath, in particular, were particularly impressive.
Playing as a wide player, Dan also chipped in with 3 assists for his teammates to score.

Raith Rovers made Dan an excellent offer to extend his stay in Kirkcaldy but fully respect his desire to play at a higher level. Everyone at the club wishes Dan the best in his future career.

Manager John McGlynn added: “In his short time at the club Daniel made a big impression with his performances. His goals, assists, skill, pace, work ethic and simply having a positive attitude rubbed off on everyone within the squad.

It’s disappointing that Dan has decided to leave the club, but as he has said in media outlets he was extremely happy at the club but the lure of winning promotion to the Premiership and playing in the top league in Scotland next season was one he couldn’t resist.

Dan has been good for The Rovers and The Rovers have been good for Dan; he has been a joy to work with and goes with my best wishes. The club made Dan a very good offer but it was more about the next step in his career than money and you can’t fault him for wanting to play at the best level he can
