Margie Robertson

Margie Robertson has been appointed as the first ever SLO (Supporter Liaison Officer) for Raith Rovers FC.

This appointment will give all supporters a point of contact on match days regarding their match day experience. As well as a visible contact on match days, Margie can be contacted via email on SLO@raithrovers.net and on the Raith Rovers SLO Twitter feed: @RrfcS

The Supporter Liaison Officer programme was created by Supporters Direct Scotland (in partnership with the Scottish FA) to facilitate the appointment of SLOs to work and engage with supporters, acting as a key point of contact. This constitutes a landmark in club-supporter relations and emphasises the importance attached to dialogue and communication between clubs and fans. More info on this can be found at http://www.supporters-direct.scot/activities/supporter-liaison-officer/

Commenting on the appointment, SDS Chief Executive and Raith Supporters Trust Chair Alan Russell said “SD Scotland are delighted to welcome Margie to the ranks of Supporter Liaison Officers in Scotland. With 28 clubs now having an SLO there is a great opportunity to continue strengthening the connection between supporters and their clubs.

Raith Rovers are also in the enviable position of having both a supporter representative in the boardroom and an SLO in the stand. These roles are complementary, and together Margie and Andy can ensure that the fans’ voice is at the heart of the club, and that their ideas and concerns are heard, understood, and acted on.”

Raith Rovers Supporter – elected Director Andy Mill was a key component in rolling out the process of recruiting a SLO along with the the Raith Supporters Trust and commented “Congratulations to Margie on becoming our first Supporters Liaison Officer. Margie will be the fans first point of contact and will work closely with the supporters, security staff and Raith Rovers to ensure a positive match day experience for all.”
