Stark’s Park today plays host to a Group 2 – Game 1 match in the Scottish Schools FA u18 National Trophy:

Fife Schools FA vs Lothian Schools FA

The match  kicks off at 2pm. Support is welcomed, and will be housed in the Turnbull Hutton Main Stand at Stark’s Park. Free entry for all.

Head coach of the Fife team, Gary Cunningham said: “The Fife Schools FA side is made up of players from 7 of the 18 secondary schools in Fife. Trials were held in September and this is the first outing for this year’s squad in a group consisting of Fife, Lothian, Dundee and Angus.

Last year, team Fife reached the semi final of the competition with more than half of that squad now gaining professional contracts:

Paul Brown, Lewis Sawers, Lewis Crosbie, Gregor Jordan and Matty Todd are all with Dunfermline Athletic.
Harris Kay and Ryan Connelly are with Cowdenbeath FC
Ben Williamson is with Rangers FC
Ross Hain played with RRFC u20s last season
Cairn Dow (Fife Elite) is currently playing with RRFC Reserves and is in today’s Fife squad.

Many former FSFA players now play regularly in the SPFL, and beyond (such as David Bates of Hamburg), and are regularly mentioned on our Twitter page @FifeSchoolsFA

On behalf of all of the squad and coaches I’d like to Thank all at RRFC for allowing us the opportunity to play our National Trophy match at Stark’s Park”
