Forfar Match Rescheduled

Updated, 5th March 2018, 5.50pm: The SPFL have approved and published the revised date for this twice – postponed SPFL League 1 fixture. This will be played on Tuesday 13th March at 7.45pm.

Updated, 5th March 2018, 12.15pm: Tomorrow night’s match at Station Park has been POSTPONED due to the snow on the Station Park playing surface.

Our friends at Forfar Athletic have advised that “although some of the snow on the playing surface has disappeared by natural means overnight, there is still a covering of between two inches where clearance had taken place on Wednesday and Thursday of last week and up to four/five inches elsewhere.

However the overall environs both within and particularly outside the ground for spectator comfort, access and more importantly safety are still in an extreme condition”

Updated, 2nd March 2018, 3.30pm: Raith Rovers and Forfar have agreed on a revised date for the SPFL League 1 fixture. This will be played on Tuesday 6th March at 7.45pm. The playing surface at Station Park will be monitored on a daily basis and any changes will be notified as soon as possible on official channels.

Updated, 2nd March 2018, 11am: Raith Rovers have been informed that tomorrow’s scheduled match at Forfar is postponed due to the weather conditions.

With snow forecast to continue falling through to early next week, an announcement regarding a rescheduled date for this fixture will be made when the conditions have been assessed.

March 1st: Raith Rovers have been in contact with the Board and ground staff at Forfar Athletic this week, who have advised that the Station Park pitch was cleared of snow yesterday (Wednesday), only for it to snow overnight and require to be cleared again this morning.

With further heavy snowfall forecast between now and Saturday 3pm both clubs have agreed to give the game every chance to go ahead, and have agreed with SPFL officials that the situation will be evaluated tomorrow (Friday) morning before deciding whether an inspection can be delayed till Saturday morning

If a postponement is required, a revised date of Tuesday 6th March has been agreed on to play this fixture.
