John McGlynn continues to rebuild the squad with the signing of Pat Clarke from Dunfermline Athletic.

The player spent the second half of last season on loan from Dunfermline.

John McGlynn welcomed Pat back to the Club and said he was happy to get him signed. “He did very well for us in the run to the end of the season and if he could take that form into next season, we will have signed not only a goalscorer but a good team member both on and off the park.”

Pat says, “I am delighted to sign for Raith Rovers Football Club and can’t wait for next season to begin. With the clubs who will be in the league, it promises to be an exciting season!

In a match that is still talked about to this day Rovers defeat Hearts at Stark's Park 4-2 on a Tuesday night under the floodlights. It was a match that saw Alex MacDonald sent-off. Willie Johnstone put Hearts ahead in just 7 minutes but Colin Harris levelled for Rovers. Jim Kerr converted a penalty to put Rovers 2-1 up and Jim Marshall made it 3-1. Willie Johnston reduced the deficit from the penalty spot before Colin More made sure of the win ten minutes from time.
