New Board Appointments

Wednesday October 11th 2017

In view of the recent changes to the Board of Directors, the Club are delighted to announce that Bill Clark and David Sinton have been appointed as Directors of Raith Rovers Football Club. Both individuals were born and raised in Kirkcaldy and both have been Rovers supporters all their lives! David will take on the role of Vice Chairman and will also take on responsibility for Football Administration. Bill, in addition to being appointed a Director, will take appointment as Company Secretary. Bill will also take on responsibility for all Youth Development matters.

Chairman Alan Young said, “I would take this opportunity of welcoming both individuals to the Board of Raith Rovers Football Club. Both individuals are genuine, dyed in the wool Rovers supporters and most definitely have the good of the Club at heart. They have already demonstrated their different qualities and talents and will, I am sure, be of enormous benefit to the Club in the future. Both individuals have hit the ground running and are both immediately involved in their tasks. I can vouch for that, as, immediately after our Board meeting, I stood with Bill last night at a cold, wet and windy Almondvale Astro behind the Tony Macaroni Stadium watching the U20s playing Livingston!! Welcome to Scottish Football!!”

“It is back to league business on Saturday with an important home game against Arbroath. Make sure you are at Stark’s Park and, of course, make some noise and get right behind the Rovers!”

A greyhound stadium is opened at Oriel Road. For many months there had been plans to build a greyhound racing track around Stark's Park in an attempt to raise money for the club whose finances were in a poor way due to falling crowds and recession.
