We Have A Winner!

Wednesday February 15th 2017

A Coaltown of Balgonie resident was made extremely happy by a phone call from Raith Rovers CEO Eric Drysdale this morning.  Willie Lowe, a roofing contractor from the village, has been buying his weekly Lotto ticket through his agent, The Balgonie Arms, for almost 6 years.  Today was finally his lucky day as his 4 numbers came up in the draw made earlier this morning at Kassy’s Kitchen, Cowdenbeath, making him the sole winner of the huge jackpot bonanza of £19,500.

After determining whether or not Mr Lowe was behind the wheel of a moving vehicle before breaking the news, Mr Drysdale calmly informed him of his windfall.  His first response is unprintable, however, it is fair to say that Willie is anything but Lowe!  He advised that in addition to his weekly entry, he had purchased 5 extra tickets this week from The Balgonie Arms in the hope of winning the massive cash sum.  Mr Drysdale added, ‘It’s great when a regular player wins the jackpot.  Willie even bought extra tickets and we are delighted that his loyalty has been so handsomely rewarded.’

Mr Lowe’s win means that Roary’s Super Lotto jackpot returns to £1000 from next Wednesday.  You have to be in it to win it, so just like Willie Lowe, sign up with your local agent or register to play online at http://www.raithrovers.net/lotto and you too could be receiving that winning phone call to brighten up your week in the near future.

John Parlane played left half for Scotland Amateurs in the 1-0 defeat to England at Dulwich. Parlane joined Rovers from Dumbarton on the 1st February 1933. He went on to play just 15 games for Rovers scoring twice against Burntisland Shipyard and Dunfermline.
