The Winners

The Raith Rovers Awards Evening on Saturday night, hosted by journalist and broadcaster Jim Spence, has been hailed as a tremendous success. Nearly 200 people including players, directors, management and fans gathered at the Dean Park for an evening filled with entertainment, laughter and live music.

The Goal of the Season award was voted for on the night, with the 6 short-listed goals being shown on the big screen before attendees cast their votes. Rory McKeown’s strike against Morton came first.

Meanwhile, the Supporters’ Player of the Year was open to online voting for the first time this year. Including in-person voting at Stark’s Park, over 800 votes were cast with Lewis Toshney picking up the award.

A new bike for Tony

Assistant Groundsman Tony Coventry, who has served under 16 managers during his time at Stark’s Park, picked up the Special Recognition award. In addition to the trophy, staff, volunteers and directors at the club all chipped in to buy him a new bike to replace the one that was stolen in the recent Stark’s Park break-in.

After a successful raffle and auction, local band State of Emergency ended the evening with a brilliant set which kept the dance-floor filled.

Before the band came on, RaithTV got everyone in the mood for May as they premièred their new epic trailer for the play-offs which will appear online early next week.

The organising committee would like to thank everyone who came along to make it such a memorable evening, as well as the staff at the Dean Park and State of Emergency. There have already been a number of enquiries for tickets for next season!
