With a Promotion Play Off place very much up for grabs, manager Ray McKinnon has moved to add another striker to the books for the run in.

We can, this evening, confirm the signing of Frenchman Joel Thomas (28) until the end of the season. Joel, who has been training with our first team squad for the last few weeks, was previously on the books of Corsican club CA Bastia and before that Romanian clubs Dinamo Bucuresti and Turnu Severin. Earlier in his career he also had spells at Hamilton Accies and Colchester United.

Explaining the move, Ray McKinnon commented, “With the injury situation combined with Harry Panayiotou’s international call up, we are short on cover up front. Also, Ryan Hardie is not allowed to play against Rangers so we were keen to give ourselves another option. Joel is a different type of player to what we already have, and the bonus is that he already knows the rest of the boys having trained with us since January. I am delighted that the board has allowed me to bring Joel in for our remaining games.”

Subject to international clearance, Joel is available for selection this evening.
