Further excellent news this afternoon for the Stark’s Park faithful as young Dundee FC prospect, Craig Wighton (17) has joined Raith Rovers on a 6-month loan deal. Craig was capped at Under 15, Under 16 and Under 17 levels, scoring an international hat-trick in September 2013. This fantastic achievement spurred the youngster on to star in Dundee’s first team, where he became Dundee’s youngest ever goalscorer a few weeks later, yes you’ve guessed it, against Raith Rovers!!

Craig then featured regularly for Dundee both in the Championship and the Premiership, attracting interest from some English Premiership clubs, before joining Brechin City on loan for a short period towards the end of last season, where he obviously also caught manager Ray McKinnon’s eye with his speed and his eye for goal.

Dundee boss Paul Hartley has now agreed that Craig’s development can be continued under Ray’s watchful eye and on Wednesday he will join up with the squad who have today begun pre season training at Michael Woods Centre, Glenrothes.

Welcome, Craig!!
