Coming and Goings

Thursday May 22nd 2014

As you might expect, there is a lot of discussion and activity going on ‘behind the scenes’ as the club continues its preparations for next season. However players’ holidays, coupled with the staggered end to the playing season due to play offs and the fact that no new player registrations can take place until the ‘transfer window’ opens on 10th June, means that whilst there is much ‘work in progress’, few deals can be completed at this time.

We are, however, pleased to confirm that Ross Callachan has committed to Raith Rovers for next season and the talented midfielder will be looking to continue to develop his career with the club. Meanwhile, the following players will be freed at the end of their contracts in a few days time:-

Reece Donaldson

Fraser Mullen

Gordon Smith

Jamie Watson

Finally, supporters will be aware that certain of our other registered players look to have decided to move on although at this stage no deals can be concluded. Details will be published if and when matters are finalised.

Meanwhile, there’s a further chance to take up the Early Bird season ticket offer this afternoon (Thursday) between 2.00pm and 7.30pm. Time is running out on this deal, so if you haven’t already done so, why not pick up your ticket today!

New signing from Dundee United Ian Ballantyne who cost £12500 scores just 12 minutes into his Rovers debut with Rovers running out 2-1 winners over Motherwell in the League Cup. Ian stays with the club for just over three years making 143 appearances and scoring 48 goals.
